Water bird

Detail of a Nilotic scene dating back to the II century B.C., recreated as the original through the combination of glass and stones. The glass brings out the gleam and vibrancy of the plumage, which appears to be splashed with water.

The original, currently kept in the National Archeological Museum of Naples, was found in the House of Faun (Casa del Fauno) in Pompeii.
